The best way to create a convincing old-world, estate-quality appearance in any room, is to implement the methods and techniques of old-world craftsmen. Our techniques do not “distress” the wood, leaving an unconvincing look, as is commonly done. True antiquing involves the transformation of newer wood into an aged look through the careful tracing of human activity in a room, as well as understanding environmental effects on that space. In essence, we compress time to create an authentic, “lived-in” history. We create custom glazes and use only the best imported shellacs and waxes to best achieve this goal.
